STUDENTS' RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY LEVEL COMPONENT
The Primary Students' Rights and Responsibilities Module consists of classroom activities which are designed to be integrated with a variety of subject areas at the primary level. Each learning activity cites specific curriculum outcomes from a number of subject areas to which the activity could be linked. These identified curriculum connections are suggestions. There are many other opportunities for linking concepts related to student rights and responsibilities to the existing curriculum.
These activities are samples of the approaches and ideas that could be used to further student learning and ultimately to positively affect behaviour in the classroom, the school, and the community. Primary teachers are encouraged to use these activities to engage students in thoughtful reflection, problem solving, and skill development related to their rights and responsibilities and those of others.
