In a group discussion, the participants can share their feelings with their peers. Their non-participants share their feelings with the group. Discuss the unfairness of the situation. Ask children to share some of the experiences which they have had outside the classroom which were similar to this experience. Invite them to describe experiences they have been involved in or have heard about. Discuss some ways of preventing such situations from recurring. Discuss the general theme of people who are judged on the basis of their physical appearance.
Implications for Teaching/Learning:
As a group, make a classroom chart of suggestions for preventing unfair treatment.
